Protecting your Family

Life Insurance

With all the different kinds of insurance out there, you may find yourself asking: Do I really need life insurance too? Only you can answer that question for yourself. While it is certainly not necessary for everyone, life insurance can be a very wise investment, especially if you have people in your life who depend on you financially. We offer a variety of life insurance policies and would be happy to assist you in deciding which one is right for you.

If you are still young, life insurance may seem like an unnecessary expense that doesn’t make any kind of financial sense. You might not have any dependents who would be left without an income should you die prematurely and you may be in great health. However, starting a life insurance policy when you are young can help keep your premium low. Being prepared and planning ahead has it’s perks.

Important Factors

When deciding on a life insurance policy, you’ll first want to decide what you want to be covered in case of your untimely death. Depending on how much you earn, your family’s standard of living, and whether or not you have children and want to be able to pay for their education, you will choose a policy that fits your individual needs.

If you are interested in having your family’s needs covered for a certain period of time, for example: 30 years or until the kids finish school, you may be interested in term life insurance. You choose the term in which your beneficiaries will receive compensation if you pass away, but after that term is over, the policy ends or in some cases you can continue the policy but the premium will be increased. Term life insurance policies are usually the most inexpensive policies so they are a good option for those who are not sure how much they want to invest, but want at least some coverage for their loved ones, or for those who, in the event of their death, would only like to provide financial benefits for a certain amount of time.

Whole life insurance, sometimes called permanent life insurance, on the other hand, covers you for your entire life. Your premium will be higher every month but there is no time limit on how long you are covered for. In some cases, you may be able to use this insurance to cover medical costs if you are deemed terminally ill. The premium for your whole life insurance will usually stay the same forever, unless you make some kind of change to the policy.

The best way to decide which type of life insurance is right for you is to schedule an appointment with one of our agents and discuss your needs, wants, and budget with them. We will work with you to come up with the perfect policy for you and your loved ones.
